This project will develop ‘Learning Energy Systems’ by creating a 'living lab' building tools to enable teachers and students in Scottish schools to better manage their built environment. It will develop applications for users to interact with a smart energy management system in order to both achieve a comfortable environment and reduce overall energy demand. In this way it offers tools to support sustainable practices.
This 18 month project is funded by the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council under its 'Research In The Wild Programme'.Dr Kate Carter, Edinburgh College of Art, leads an interdisciplinary team also involving Dr Chris Speed, Prof Remo Pedreschi, Dr Nigel Goddard (Informatics) and Prof Robin Williams (ISSTI).
